Why Is Aftercare Important?
Aftercare is the most important aspect of any body modification, yet the instructions for how to take care of a piercing. Most people become confused and end up experiencing complications. So if you’re having trouble healing a piercing, have had trouble in the past, or are considering getting a piercing, that is page for you!
Cleaning Solutions:
There is no single cleaning solution or piercing aftercare regimen that works for everyone, everywhere, all the time.
Different bodies and different lifestyles demand different aftercare.

Body Piercing need to be cared for daily during the entire initial healing time.
CLEAN TWICE A DAY ONLY
as excess cleaning will hiunder the healing process.
Necessary Supplies:

Aftercare Product as advised by your piercer

Sterile Saline Solution

Non-iodized Sea Salt
-
Mild Antibacterial Liquid Soap

Alcohol-free, antiseptic mouthwash (ORAL)
Healing Times
Everyone is different...
In general, piercings are fully healed after about 8 weeks. Some people have super immune systems and are healed within 4 weeks, others can take up to 12. Your piercer should be able to advise you of how long your particular piercing should take to heal, but here is a list of the more popular piercings, and their estimated healing times.

Earlobe: 3-6 Weeks

Ear Cartilage ( tragus, helix, rook, snug): 3-12 Months

Eyebrow: 2-3 Months

Navel: 5-12 Months

Tongue: 3-4 Weeks

Lip: 6-12 Weeks

Labret: 6-12 Weeks

Monroe: 2-3 Months
Cleaning Instructions:

Never touch or play with healing piercing
with unwashed hands.

WASH your hands thoroughly prior to cleaning, or touching on or near your piercing for any reason.

SALINE soak at least two times daily. Simply invert a cup of warm saline solution over the area to form a vacuum for a few minutes. The longer you soak, the better.

SOAP no more than once a day. While showering, lather up a pearl size drop of the soap to clean the jewellery and the piercing.

After shower apply Aftercare Productas advised by piercer, onto the piercing!

DRY with disposable paper products such as gauze or tissues, because cloth towels can harbor bacteria and catch on new piercings causing injury.
